Richard retired from the Metropolitan Police in August 2012 after completing 30 years’ service.

For the last decade of his career he specialised within the CBRN field of operations and is a highly experienced CBRN operator who possesses a number of unique skills within the field, including Body Recovery and its related forensics as well as CBRN event planning

He has performed the unpleasant task of Body Recovery and Identification of deceased persons from both contaminated and conventional scenes and was employed within this role following the tragic events of 7/7. His planning skills were called upon to present Event Commanders with a CBRN response plan for many high profile and sensitive events.

Since retiring Richard is still highly active within the CBRN arena with his CBRN Live Agent skills and experience will continue to be put to good use in his current role as CBRN Trials & Training Manager at Scott Health & Safety.
